5.8.2 Warnings
The warnings listed below are non-critical alarm conditions and do not affect the operation
of the generator, they serve to draw the operators attention to an undesirable condition.
Battery Charge Failure: If the PLC does not detect a voltage from the warning light
terminal on the auxiliary charge alternator, the screen will display ‘Charger gen’ on
the LCD. The Alarm LED will flash.
Low Battery: If the PLC detects that the plant DC supply has fallen below the low
voltage setting level, the screen will display ‘Low battery’ on the LCD. The Alarm
LED will flash.
High Battery: If the PLC detects that the plant DC supply has risen above the high
voltage setting level, the screen will display ‘High battery’ on the LCD. The Alarm
LED will flash.
Low Oil Pressure: If the PLC detects that the engine oil pressure has fallen below
the low oil pressure pre-alarm level after the run status timer has expired, the screen
will display ‘Oil pressure 1’ on the LCD. The Alarm LED will flash.
High Engine Temperature: If the PLC detects that the engine coolant temperature
has exceeded the high temperature pre-alarm level after the run status timer has
expired, the screen will display ‘Watertemp.1’ on the LCD. The Alarm LED will
flash.
Over speed: If the engine speed exceeds the pre-alarm level, the module will
display ‘Over speed 1’ on the LCD. The Alarm LED will illuminate steadily.
Generator High Frequency (Warning is configured): If the PLC detects a generator
output frequency in excess of the pre-alarm level, the screen will display ‘G over
frequency’ on the LCD. The Alarm LED will flash.
Generator Low Frequency (Warning is configured): If the PLC detects a generator
output frequency below the pre-alarm level after the Safety On timer has expired, the
screen will display ‘G under frequency’ on the LCD. The Alarm LED will flash.
Generator High Voltage (Warning is configured): If the PLC detects a generator
output voltage in excess of the pre-alarm level, the screen will display ‘G over
voltage’ on the LCD. The Alarm LED will flash.
Generator Low Voltage (Warning is configured): If the PLC detects a generator
output voltage below the pre-alarm level after the Safety On timer has expired, the
screen will display ‘G under voltage’ on the LCD. The Alarm LED will flash.
Phase Sequence Error: If the PLC detects a generator phase rotation error or
mains phase rotation error, the screen will display ‘Phase sequence error’ on the
LCD. The Alarm LED will illuminate steadily.
Auxiliary Inputs: If an auxiliary input has been configured as a warning, the screen
will display the appropriate message on the LCD. The Alarm LED will illuminate
steadily.
