4.7 Battery Connections
The battery cables should be disconnected when the generator is required to be
transported or stored for long periods. Before running the machine, reconnect the
battery cables.
Connect the red cable to the positive (+) post.
Connect the black cable to the negative (-) post.
Warning:
Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. The battery can explode. Battery electrolyte
solution is caustic and can cause severe burns and blindness. If electrolyte contacts skin
or eyes, immediately flush the area with water and urgently seek medical attention.
5. Operation
5.1 General Pre-check before Starting
Before starting the generator, check each item below.
Check engine oil, fuel and coolant.
Check for leakage at the hose connections.
Warning:
If any leak is found, do not use the machine. Repairs are only to be carried out by
trained personnel and according to regulations.
Ensure there are no obstructions lodged in vents, near radiator or around fan.
Ensure that nothing is touching the muffler or exhaust pipes.
Check that the generator is earthed and the Earth spike is installed and tested as per
local regulations.
Make correct terminal connections. TEST accordingly
Check that all electrical connections are made in compliance with local regulations
and standards
Ensure that the fan belt and hoses on the engine have no loose connections and are
not fraying. Tighten or replace as required.
