Use the
NAVIGATION SETUP
key to set the geodetic
datum reference to auto or manual (if set to manual,
choose from a list of 150 datums), preferred loran GRI,
automatic or manual waypoint switching, automatic or
manual calculation of magnetic variation (or else true
north), and calculation of distance, bearing, and XTE
using either a rhumb line or great circle. For more infor-
mation about these options, see ”Changing navigation
setup” starting on page 13-9.

Use the
CHART SCREEN SETUP
key to set the display of
individual waypoint symbols, turn on or off the display of
waypoint names and waypoint symbols on the
CHART
screen, enable the clearzoom feature, set the length of the
position predictor line, show loran TDs on the
CHART
screen
INFO BAR
s and the
CURSOR INFO BAR
, turn on or
off the display of range rings and the distance scale bar,
turn on or off the display of past trip legs, and turn on the
off the display of a chart-update region on the
CHART
screen. For more information about all of these options,

Use the
CHART INVENTORY
key to load/update any new
charts, delete any charts from the database, and access all
HCRF-specific functions, e.g. for ARCS charts. For more
information about these functions, see ”Loading, updat-
ing, and deleting charts” starting on page 13-30.

Use the
DEMO SETUP
key to invoke the demo function
for training purposes, practicing for an upcoming trip, or
just looking ahead to an anticipated destination. You can
set up demo to simulate NMEA/PPNM output for 10 min-
utes. For more information about these functions, see
”Using demo mode” starting on page 13-63.

Use the
TIME INFORMATION
key to show the date and
time (based on the local time zone), and time of today’s
sunrise and sunset for the current vessel position. For
more information about the
