Editing a route or the trip
You can edit a route or a trip by adding waypoints to the mid-
dle of a route leg or a trip leg. This function splits a leg into
two new segments.
1. On the
CHART
screen, press the
CURSOR PAD
to select a
route leg or a trip leg at the point where you want to add
a waypoint, then press the
CURSOR
menu
key. The
SELECTED ROUTE LEG
or
SELECTED TRIP LEG
dialog
box appears—depending on whether you selected a route
leg or a trip leg, respectively.
2. Press the
EDIT
key.
The 961 returns to the
CHART
screen, showing the
selected route leg or trip leg.
3. Press the
CURSOR PAD
to move the cursor to the desired
location of the waypoint to be inserted.
The 961 displays the tentative location of the new route or
trip leg.
4. Press the
DONE
key to insert the new point (or press the
CANCEL
key to cancel).
The 961 returns to the
CHART
screen, showing the new
point inserted into the selected route leg or trip leg.
Editing a waypoint
You can select an existing waypoint, route point, or trip point
on the
CHART
screen, and move it to another location:
1. On the
CHART
screen, press the
CURSOR PAD
to select a
waypoint. If necessary, to select a named waypoint or a
waypoint that’s part of a route or trip, press the
LEFT
ARROW
key or
RIGHT ARROW
key.
2. Press the
CURSOR
menu key.
The
SELECTED WAYPOINT
dialog box appears. If you’ve
selected a trip point or a route point instead of a named
waypoint, this box will be named
SELECTED TRIP POINT
or
SELECTED ROUTE POINT
.
