On these list screens, you can select each waypoint, route,
track, or avoidance point by pressing the up and down arrows
of the
CURSOR PAD
; the currently selected waypoint, route,
track, or avoidance point is indicated by a horizontal stripe.
Waypoints screen
The
WAYPOINTS
screen lists all your stored, named waypoints
by symbol; name; distance and bearing; and lat/lon or TDs (the
distance and bearing fields are completely blank if there’s no
position fix). Until you store user-defined waypoints in the
database, the
WAYPOINTS
screen will be completely blank.

By pressing the
CURSOR PAD
left or right, you can sort the
waypoint list by each column (the 961 highlights selected col-
umns with a vertical stripe):
•
a sort by the symbol column (not titled) lists waypoints by
similar symbols
•
a sort by the
NAME
column yields an alphabetical list
•
a sort by the
DISTANCE
or
BRG
(bearing) columns lists
waypoints in order of distance or bearing from your
present position
A waypoint is a spe-
cific position defined
by either its lat/lon,
TDs, or distance and
bearing
from some
position fix
.
