Verifying the software upgrade
To verify the intended version of Symposium TAPI SP has been installed, select
“Start -> Programs -> Nortel -> About Nortel Networks Products”. This will show
the release version of Symposium TAPI SP and give detailed version information
about all the components.
When required upgrade procedures are complete, on the TAPI server, restart
telephony services and ACD proxy services if required. Start the TAPI browser
application. Initialize and open all lines.
Upgrading Symposium TAPI SP features
When you purchase Symposium TAPI SP, you purchase a license for a specific
number of clients and a specific range of services. To increase the number of
clients or change the range of services you must purchase a keycode.
License management when upgrading
Before you can upgrade TAPI services you must purchase a new keycode, and
enter this new license keycode in the License tab in the Symposium TAPI SP
configuration application. When successfully decrypted this will enable additional
clients or features.
Increasing the number of clients
After you enter the new license keycode, configure new clients on Symposium
TAPI SP. If you wish to configure a small number of additional clients you can
manually configure them in the Symposium TAPI SP configuration application.
Refer to Chapter 4, “Configuring the trunk table”, page 101 and “Configuring the
TN table”, page 104 for information about configuring clients.
If you want to configure a large number of additional clients it is more efficient to
download the configuration information from the Succession switch and
configure all of the the clients in one process. Refer to Chapter 4 “Downloading
information from the Meridian Switch”, page 92.
