Servo Motor
See Figure 7 and use the following procedure to replace
the servo motor.
Remove the Servo Motor
1. Disconnect the electrical connectors (2) from the
J-box or extension cables.
2. Remove the screws (7) securing the belt cover (6).
3. Loosen the motor plate screws (3A, 3B) and the belt
tension screw (4).
4. Remove the plug (8) from the gearbox (10) to access
the pinion bolt.
5. Rotate the drive gear until the pinion bolt is aligned
with the pinion bolt access hole. It may be necessary
to remove the drive belt (5). Refer to the Remove the
Drive Belt procedure.
6. Insert a 3-mm hex wrench (9) into the pinion bolt
access hole and loosen the pinion bolt.
7. Remove the screws (13) and lock washers (12)
securing the servo motor (1) to the gearbox.
Install the Servo Motor
1. Rotate the servo motor hub (11) to align the pinion
bolt access hole with the pinion bolt.
2. Install the servo motor (1) onto the gearbox (10)
using the lock washers (12) and screws (13). Tighten
the screws to 39 in.-lb (4.5 N
•
m).
3. Using the the 3-mm hex wrench (9), tighten the
pinion bolt to 2 in.-lb (0.23 N
•
m). Install the plug (8)
into the gearbox and tighten securely.
4. Make sure that the drive belt (5) is on the drive gear.
Refer to the Install the Drive Belt procedure to tighten
the drive belt.
