Repair

High pressure fluids are extremely dangerous. Do not
place any part of your body in front of a dispensing
device, drain, or leak in a high pressure system.
Relieve system and material pressure before
disconnecting hoses.
Perform the following before making repairs:
1. Shut off and lock out power to the SDS meter.
2. Relieve system and material pressure.
3. Turn off the water circulation system at the
temperature control unit.
Consumable Items
Keep the items listed in Table 4 on hand when
performing SDS meter repairs.

Drive Belt
See Figure 6 and use the following procedure to replace
the drive belt.
Remove the Drive Belt
1. Disconnect the electrical connectors (7) from the
J-box or extension cables.
2. Remove the screws (8) securing the drive train (12)
to the metering cylinder (7).
3. Remove the screws (6) securing the belt cover (5) to
the belt housing (11).
4. Loosen the motor plate screws (1A, 1B) and the
belt-tension screw (2). Twist the motor plate (3) to
relieve the belt tension.
5. Remove the drive belt (4) from the driven gear (10)
and the drive gear (9).
Install the Drive Belt
1. See Figure 6. Install the drive belt onto the drive
gear (9), then the driven gear (10).
2. Tighten the motor plate screw (1A) until it is secure,
then back it off a

turn.
3. Turn the drive belt-tension screw (2) clockwise to
apply tension to the belt (4).
4. Tighten both motor plate screws to
20–24 ft-lb (28–32.5 N
•
m).
5. Install the drive belt cover (5) using the screws (6).
Tighten the screws securely.
6. Install the metering cylinder (7) to the drive train (12)
using the screws (8). Tighten the screws
to 82 ft-lb (111 N
•
m).
7. Connect the electrical connectors (7) to the J-Box or
extension cables.
