Each system component of the oven is described here. Familiarize
yourself with the function of each component.
The conveyor consists of two rail assemblies, one fixed and the other
movable. Each rail assembly has an extended pin chain drive that
secures the PCB before it enters the oven. Two motors develop the
constant speed and calibrated width position for the conveyor.
The process cavity is divided into six heat curing zones and one cooling
area. Each curing zone is made up of IR lamps, thermocouples, and
ceramic insulators. The IR lamps develop the uniform temperature
throughout the process cavity. Thermocouples in each zone monitor the
oven temperature.
The heat cured PCB’s are cooled in the cooling area of the process
cavity. Filtered ambient air circulates through this area to keep the
temperature of the PCB components as low as possible.
The monitor assembly contains a capacitive-sensitive touchscreen and
VGA color monitor. Users input information by touching the touchscreen
pads. The touchscreen pads are either active or inactive in relation to the
menus displayed on the monitor.
The oven controller directs the operation of the oven. It provides oven
status, parameters, and alarm condition information to the user through
menu displays. Menus are displayed using a combination of 16 colors.
The controller consists of a series of intelligent controller cards contained
within a card cage. Each card has its own microprocessor that
communicates with the other cards over a high speed buss. The card
cage is located behind the E-stop cover at the exit end ovens exit end
E-stop panel.
The following paragraphs provide a description of each controller card.
Familiarize yourself with the function of each card.
NOTE: The numbers in parentheses indicate the slot of each card within
the card cage.
