5. To remove the chassis, slide the inner-chassis rails from the outer-rack rails ensuring equal pressure on
both rails. You may have to press the locking tabs to release the chassis, prior to sliding. Place the
chassis aside.

CAUTION:
Do not pick up the server by the front handles, they are only designed to pull the
chassis from the rack.
Note
As replacement chassis ship with chassis rails pre-installed, it is not necessary to remove the chassis
rails from the old chassis.

To install a replacement chassis:
1. Lift the chassis from each side—not from the front or back.
2. Line up the inner-chassis rails with the front of the outer-rack rails.
