Fans

Unity Storage System fans are essential for maintaining proper internal temperature and should be replaced
immediately if found to be faulty.

A failed fan usually causes a temperature warning LED on the front panel to light up.

Replacing a fan

RAID Unity Storage Systems have six fans per controller: three on the motherboard (designated

Lower Layer

)

and three on raised brackets (designated

Upper Layer

).
