Unity Storage System controllers
When one Unity Storage System controller fails, its resources (Pool Resource Group and storage pools) are
migrated to the remaining Unity Storage System controller automatically.
Replacing a Unity Storage System controller

To replace a Unity Storage System controller:
1. Shut down the failed controller through Unity. See
Shutting down the cluster or individual cluster nodes
in
of the
Nexsan Unity Software User Guide
for details.
2. Remove all cables from the failed controller, being certain to label each with the name and number of the
port to which it was attached.
3. Unscrew the retaining bolt on the extraction handle of the controller that needs to be replaced.

4. Pull down the extraction handle to disengage the controller from the unit, then gently pull the controller out
of the chassis, supporting its weight with the other hand.
