Hardware Installation
Local Network Hardware Checklist
The Model RH340 Internet Access ISDN Router is intended for use in a network of PCs that are
interconnected by twisted pair Ethernet cable. In this network:
•
Each PC has an Ethernet NIC (network interface card) installed.
•
The PCs and router are connected together using a hub or switch.
•
The Model RH340 router’s Ethernet port operates at 10 Mbps (standard Ethernet) only. If any
PCs on the network run at 100 Mbps (Fast Ethernet), a dual-speed hub or switch must be used
to connect to the router.
Router Connection
The front panel of the Model RH340 router, as illustrated in
Figure 2-1
, contains status LEDs.
Refer to the illustration to locate the LEDs and to
Table 2-1
for descriptions. You can use some of
the LEDs to verify connections.
Key:
1 = PWR (Power) LED
2 = TEST LED
3 = Channel D, B1, and B2 ISDN LEDs
4 = LAN 1-4 LEDs
5 = PHONE 1 and PHONE 2 LEDs
