2-28 Setup and Operation
REPLACING THE PRIMARY BATTERY PACK
To replace the primary battery pack with a fully charged battery, press the suspend button
to activate Suspend mode. It is not necessary to turn off system power as long as Suspend
mode is activated. The bridge battery maintains data and system status for up to 5 minutes
while in Suspend mode. Use the steps below to install a charged battery pack.
CAUTION:
Use Suspend when all of the fol-
lowing conditions are true:
— the bridge battery is charged
— another charged battery pack is available

If power is on, press the suspend button to put the system in Suspend mode. The
bridge battery saves the memory contents and system status.

Locate the primary battery release latch on the bottom of the system. Push the
release latch while removing the battery pack from the compartment.
