     Troubleshooting and Repair

CMOS Battery

Use the following steps to remove the CMOS battery. The CMOS battery is a round, silver-
colored 3-volt battery.

1. 

Remove the following as previously described:

n

 

LCD

n

 

top cover

n

 

keyboard.

2. 

Disconnect the CMOS battery from connector P8 on the CPU board.

3. 

Remove the CPU board and locate the CMOS battery taped to the metal frame.
