Upgrading Your Server 9-31
Installation
Install a DIMM in the following procedure.
IMPORTANT:
The server supports DIMMs of only the low-profile
type (30 mm (1.2 inches) in height). It does not support DIMMs
exceeding the specified height.
1.
See page 197 to prepare.
2.
Pull out the server from the rack (as described on page 197).
3.
Remove the drive cover and logic cover (as described on page 214).
4.
Remove the PCI riser card (as described on page 236).
5.
Remove the four support bar screws, and then remove the support bar.
NOTE:
The support bar can spring upwards when freed, resulting in the loss of
screws.
Firmly hold the support bar down while removing the screws.
6.
Lift the processor duct to remove it.
