9-12  Upgrading Your Server

Power Supply Unit

Even if one of three power supply units fails, the server can continue its operation without
interruption when an additional power supply unit is installed (in the redundant configuration).

If the four power supply units are used, AC power can be divided into two lines with a pair of power
supply units. With the AC power redundant configuration, the server can continue its operation
without power interruption even if either of AC power line fails.

Installation

Take the following steps to install a power supply unit:

 

1. 

See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" described earlier to prepare.

 

2. 

Remove the screw securing the blank cover.
