Setting Up MaxServer Ports for Out-of-band
Management of Console Port Devices
This section describes how to set up MaxServer ports for out-of-band
management of console port devices.
NOTE: The commands described in this section can only be
executed in Privileged mode.
Use the following procedure:
1.
Enter the following commands to set up the server IP address and
primary gateway address for the MaxServer:
DEFINE/SET SERVER IP ADDRESS <internet-address>
DEFINE/SET SERVER IP PRIMARY GATEWAY ADDRESS <internet-address>
2.
Enter the following commands to disable subnet mask autoconfigure and
set up the subnet mask on the MaxServer:
DEFINE/SET SERVER IP SUBNET MASK AUTOCONFIGURE DISABLED
DEFINE/SET SERVER IP SUBNET MASK <ip-address-mask>
3.
Enter the following command to set up the destination port as remote
access:
DEFINE/SET PORT <port-number> ACCESS REMOTE
4.
Enter the following commands to disable autobaud and reset the baud
rate at the destination port:
DEFINE/SET PORT <port-number> AUTOBAUD DISABLED
DEFINE/SET PORT <port-number> SPEED <port-speed>
