14. Replace the top panel of the SLSC chassis.
Note
Ensure the vent holes are at the back of the chassis.
15. Screw in the two top panel retention screws using a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

Replacing Cables to the Mass Interconnect
Equipment
•
#2 Phillips screwdriver
•
6 mm hex key
•
Scissors/blade
•
Zip ties
1.
Power off the ECUTS.
2.
Verify there is not an ITA or FDT connected to the mass interconnect.
3.
Remove the four screws from each filler panel above and below the mass interconnect using the #2 Phillips screwdriver.
4.
Remove the filler panels above and below the mass interconnect.
5.
Loosen the screws securing the mass interconnect to the test rack using the #2 Phillips screwdriver.
6.
Slide the mass interconnect out from the test rack.
7.
Remove the cables attached to J1, J18, J19, J20, J21, and J23.
a)
If the cable has retention screws, remove the retention screws using the #2 Phillips screwdriver.
b)
If the cable has a Micro-fit connector, press the locking tab and pull the connector away from the printed circuit board (PCB).
8.
Remove the cables attached to the modules.
a)
If the strain relief is secured to the mass interconnect, remove the screws from the top and bottom of the strain relief using the #2
Phillips screwdriver.
b)
Remove the 6 mm hex screws from the module using the 6 mm hex key.
c)
If necessary, remove the 6 mm hex cap screws and slide out the adjacent modules.
9.
Slide the modules out of the mass interconnect.
10. Cut the zip ties securing the strain relief plate to the cable.
11. Remove the strain relief plate.
12. Remove the cables from the ECUTS.
13. Place the replacement cable in the ECUTS.
14. Attach the strain relief plate to the cables with new zip ties.
15. Slide the modules into the mass interconnect.
a)
Connect the cables to the modules.
b)
If removed, replace the adjacent modules, and tighten 6 mm hex screws.
c)
Screw in the 6 mm hex screws to the module using the 6 mm hex key.
16. If the strain relief is mounted to the mass interconnect, replace the screws from the top and bottom of the strain relief using the #2 Phillips
screwdriver.
17. Connect the cables to J1, J18, J19, J20, J21, and J23.
a)
If the cable has retention screws, screw in retention screws using the #2 Phillips screwdriver.
b)
If the cable has a micro-fit connector, press on the locking tab and connect the cable to the PCB.
18. Slide the mass interconnect back into the test rack.
19. Tighten the screws securing the mass interconnect to the test rack using the #2 Phillips screwdriver.
20. Replace the filler panels above and below the mass interconnect.
21. Screw in the four filler panel screws on each filler panel using the #2 Phillips screwdriver.
