Step 5: Installing the discharge hopper
Step 7: Adding oil
1. Install the discharge hopper (A) by aligning the assembly
holes of the discharge hopper with the holes in the box.
2. Secure the discharge hopper (A) on the box (B) with three
M8 flange bolts (D)
You must add oil to the machine before starting. Oil can be
added in either of the two spots located at the bottom rear
of the machine.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Warning:
Operate the unit outdoors in a well-ventilated area only. Keep children, pets and bystanders away.
Warning:
•
Gasoline is highly flammable and must be handled with care. Never fill the tank when the engine is still hot from recent operation.
•
Do not allow smoking or matches in the area. Keep the unit away from flames. Avoid over-filling and wipe up any spills.
Warning: Do not use gasoline containing methanol, gasohol containing more than 10% ethanol and gasoline additives because engine/fuel
system damage could result.
1. Remove the fuel tank cap.
2. Fill the tank.
- Do not overfill. Leave room in the tank for fuel expansion.
- Refer to the engine manual for specific fuel recommendations.
3. Install and hand tighten the fuel tank cap.
Adding fuel
1. Make sure the fuel shut-off valve is in the “ON” position.
2. Move the choke control lever to the “CHOKE” position (should only be needed if the engine is cold).
3. Move the throttle control lever to the “FAST” position.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position. Grasp the recoil starter handle and slowly pull until you feel resistance. Let the cord retract a little bit, then pull
the cord rapidly to start the engine. One or two pulls usually starts the engine.
5. Move the choke control lever (if used for cold engine) slowly back to the “RUN” position when the engine is running well.
6. If the machine has not been running (cold engine), warm up the engine by running the engine at half throttle for 3 to 4 minutes, then advance the engine
throttle control to the maximum speed.
•
Ensure that the engine is running full throttle before beginning chipping operation.
Starting the engine
1. Move the throttle lever to “IDLE”.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the “OFF” position.
Stopping the engine
TRANSPORTATION
1. Always observe safe refueling and fuel handling practices when refueling the unit after transportation or storage.
2. Never store the unit (with fuel) in an enclosed, poorly ventilated structure. Fuel vapors can reach an ignition source (such as a furnace, water heater, etc.)
and cause an explosion. Fuel vapors are also toxic to humans and animals.
