There will be some latency in the changes to exposure. To minimize this latency
when using a colour camera, in particular a colour HotShot MEGA camera, it is
recommended that you make use of the SPEED BOOST function (see 6.7.1).
6.4 Manual Black Balance
With all the camera series you can perform a manual Black balance before making a
recording. This will give the best quality image. The black balance will remove Fixed
Pattern Noise (FPN) from the image. The nature of the FPN changes as the camera
temperature changes and also as you set different record parameters. The Black
Balance is ONLY VALID at the Frame Rate, Shutter Speed (exposure), AOI and
GAIN settings that it was generated at. So if you change any of these parameters
you should re-calculate the Black Balance data.
To perform Black Balance calibration, the camera must be in
VIEW
mode. Push the
Black Balance
Button. This is located on the play controls panel
You will be asked to close the lens cap on the camera while this process is
performed.
