Daily Maintenance
This section describes the maintenance procedures for the product.
Cleaning, maintenance and recycling that are not described in this section should only be done by a trained per-
son.
IMPORTANT
• Do not use cleaning agents such as benzene or thinner, as they could damage the plastic and paint.
• Do not use tissue paper or paper towel for cleaning. They could attach inside the machine or generate electro-
static charges. Use a soft cloth to avoid damaging the surface of the machine.
Cleaning the outside of the machine
Dip a soft cloth in water or a mild cleaning solution and wring it out thoroughly, and wipe the outside of the ma-
chine with it.
Cleaning the scanner area
If the scanner is dirty, it could cause unwanted markings on printed copies or black lines on documents received
by the other party. Clean the scanner regularly.
Cleaning the ADF glass, document glass, platen cover, and document pad
Wipe with a soft cloth dipped in water and wrung out thoroughly. Then, wipe with a clean dry cloth.
If dirt is heavily built up, wipe with a cloth dipped in a small amount of mild cleaning solution, and then wipe
again with a clean dry cloth.
