Chapter 2 Basic Operation
Setting leaf media
Unlike roll media, leaf media does not need to be retained
with the roll holders.

Set the FEEDING UNIT and TAKE-UP UNIT
to “OFF” in “Setting Feeding and Take-up
unit” of the machine setup.(

Open the front cover, and then raise the
clamp lever.

Insert the leaf media between the platen
and the pinch rollers, and push down the
clamp lever.
• Set the media so that no media sticks out from the
right end pinch roller to the right side.

Hold the media with the fabric retainer
gently.
• Set the media so that it does not extend to the
right of the V-groove on the platen.
• When using a thick media, remove the fabric
retainer from the media before printing.
In this case, set the machine setup of “Setting the
Media Detection” to “MANUAL” (
P.3-15), and
refer to P.2-15 “Setting of the manual media width
setting” and set the media width.

Close the front cover.
• Set the media straight.

Press
to select "LEAF" .

The media detection is started.
(1)
The media width is detected.
(2)
The media is fed then the rear end of media
is detected.
(3)
It returns to the Local when the detection is
completed.

• For the leaf media, use only a withy one.
When using the leaf media, the take-up device is
invalid. If the set media is not withy, the printing
face will not become flat and the media will jam.
• Set media long enough to cover tension roller.
Otherwise, the media may be caught between
tension roller and the fabric roller and get jammed.
