Unlocking and Locking
Unlocking:
Press transm it button I M . All turn
signal lam ps blink once to indicate
that the vehicle is unlocked.
The rem ote control can be pro
gramm ed for two kinds of unlock
ing m ethods (see below):
Selective unlocking m o d e -
Press transm it button 1 9 once to
unlock driver’s door, storage
com partm ent in arm rest and fuel
filler flap.
Press transm it button

tw ice to
unlock passenger door and trunk.
Global unlocking mode -
Press transm it button
E l
once to
unlock doors, storage com partm ent
in armrest, fuel filler flap, and trunk.
Locking:
Press transm it button E l once.
All turn signal lam ps blink three
tim es to indicate that the vehicle is
locked.
Notes:
If the trunk w as previously locked
separately, it will remain locked
(see
Trunk, separately locke d
in
Index).
The presently active unlocking
m ode (selective or global) can only
be determ ined by unlocking the
vehicle with the rem ote control
(see below for changing mode).
If the vehicle cannot be locked or
unlocked by pressing the transm it
button, then it m ay be necessary to
change the batteries in the tra n s
mitter, see

The vehicle is autom atically locked
again, if within 40 seconds of un
locking with the rem ote control,
neither door is opened, the key is
not inserted in the steering lock, or
the central locking switch is not
activated.

five seconds to reprogram the
rem ote control. Battery check
lamp (3) will blink tw o tim es
indicating the com pleted mode
change.
