Raising H ardtop M anually
In case of m alfunction, the hardtop
can also be raised m anually. This
procedure should be perform ed
with great care by 2 persons.
Prior to raising the hardtop
m anually, m ake certain that all
points listed under
R etractable
H ardtop (see Index) were
observed.
A hex-socket w rench, located on
the inside of the right-hand cover in
the trunk, is required for this job.
1. Open doors or low er windows.
2. For safety reasons, rem ove key
from steering lock.
3. Open trunk.
4. O pen right-hand cover in trunk
and rem ove hex-socket w rench.
Using w rench turn screw (1) of
the hydraulic pum p counter­
clockw ise to its stop.
Keep w rench with you for later
use in closing and locking the
hardtop.
Important!
Do not operate the hardtop switch
with screw (1) in the opened
position, otherw ise the hydraulic
pum p could be dam aged.
5. Expose left and right side
cables (2). The cables are
located behind the left and
right side trunk trim panel
covers.
