Changing W heels
1. Set p a rkin g brake.
2. W ith m anual tra n s m is s io n , s h ift
gear s h ift lever to 1st o r reverse
gears respectively, w ith a u to m a
tic tra n s m is s io n , m ove s e le c to r
lever to p o s itio n “ P” .
3. Prevent ve h ic le fro m ro llin g away
by b lo c k in g w h e e ls w ith w heel
c h o c k s : W hen c h a n g in g a w h e e l
on a h ill, place c h o c k s b ehind
each w heel o f th e axle o p p o s ite
to th e axle to be w o rke d o n ; on a
level road, place one c h o c k in
fro n t and one b e h ind of the
w heel th a t is d ia g o n a lly o p p o s ite
to th e w heel bein g changed.
4. U sing th e c o m b in a tio n w re n ch ,
loosen b u t do n o t yet rem ove the
w heel bolts.
5. R em ove p ro te c tiv e cap fro m the
ja c k s u p p o rt tube. (The tu b e
o p e n in g s are lo ca te d d ire c tly be
h in d th e fro n t w heel h o u sin g s
and in fro n t o f th e rear w heel
ho u sing s.)
6. Insert ja c k arm fu lly in to th e tu b e
hole up to th e stop. P o sitio n the
ja c k so th a t it w ill alw ays be ve r
tic a l as seen fro m th e side, even
on in c lin e s . Ja ck up th e ve h icle
u n til th e w heel is c le a r o ff the
g ro u n d .
7. Then u n s c re w w heel b o lts c o m
pletely. Keep b o lt th re a d s p ro
te cte d fro m d irt and sand. W hile
re m o vin g last b o lt, h o ld w heel
a g a in s t axle to avoid p a in t d a m
age on rim .
8. Rem ove w heel.
9. S cre w th e a lig n m e n t stud, w h ic h
co m e s w ith th e spare tire , in to
th e u p p e r th re a d e d h o le o f the
h ub p rio r to in s ta llin g w heel.
10. A d ju s t th e ja c k to a llo w the
w heel to be s lip p e d on w ith o u t
bein g lifte d .
11. Install spare w heel (valve in b o t
to m p o s itio n ) on w heel hub. In
se rt w heel b o lts and tig h te n
them s lig h tly . To avoid p aint
dam age, place w heel fla t
a g a in s t h u b and hold it there
w h ile in s ta llin g firs t w heel bolt.
U n scre w th e a lig n m e n t stud to
in sta ll th e last w heel bolt.
12. L o w e r car, rem ove ja c k and
pla ce cap in to th e ja c k s u p p o rt
tu b e . T ig h te n th e five b olts
evenly, alw ays s k ip p in g one,
u n til all b o lts are tig h t. Observe
a tig h te n in g to rq u e o f 110 Nm/
80 Ib-ft.
13. C o rre c t tire pressure.
