Depress a c c e le ra to r and c lu tc h ped
al (if a p p lic a b le ) to th e flo o r. Turn
key in s te e rin g lo c k c lo c k w is e to the
stop. Release key o n ly w hen th e en
g in e is firin g re g u la rly and back o ff
a c c e le ra to r slow ly.
Do not in te rru p t th e s ta rtin g p ro c
ess. If th e e n g in e is very c o ld it is
p o ssib le th a t it w ill fa il to sta rt on
s u b s e q u e n t a ttem pts.
Hot Engine
T u rn key in s te e rin g lo c k c lo c k w is e
to th e stop and s ta rt e n g in e im m e d i
ately w ith o u t d e p re ssin g th e a c c e l
e ra to r. Release th e key as soon as
th e e n g in e is firin g regularly.
Turning off

g in e im m e d ia te ly b u t a llo w it to run
at s lig h tly increased id le speed fo r
a p p ro x im a te ly 1 - 2 m inutes.

O bserve th e oil p ressure gauge im
m ed ia te ly a fte r sta rtin g . In a very
c o ld e n g in e th e o il p ressure w ill
o n ly rise slo w ly, som e tim e a fte r the
e n g in e has started. Do n o t speed up
th e e n g in e b e fo re pre ssu re is re g is
tered on th e p ressure gauge.

o u t as soon as th e e n g in e has
started.

up, th e p re g lo w system is d e fective
and s h o u ld be repaired at an au
