Pull b e lt w ith latch pla te (1) across
th e lap and push latch plate in to
b u c k le (2) u n til it clic k s . The belt
m ust n o t be tw is te d and m u st be
tig h t.
To sh o rte n th e belt, p u ll b e lt end
w ith the to n g u e engaged. To le n g th ­
en th e belt, tu rn th e la tch pla te so
th a t it is at a little m ore th a n 90° to
th e b e lt and p u ll b e fo re fa s te n in g
th e belt.
To d ise n ga g e th e belt, push red b u t­
to n (3) in th e buckle.
The e m e rg e n c y te n s io n in g re tra c ­
to rs are d e sig ne d to a ctiva te o n ly
d u rin g severe fro n ta l im pacts. They
tig h te n th e b e lts in such a w ay th a t
they fit m ore s n u g ly a g a in s t the
bo d y re s tric tin g as m uch as pos­
s ib le its fo rw a rd m ovem ent.
In cases o f less severe fro n ta l im ­
pacts, such as ro ll-o ve rs, side o r
rear c o llis io n s , o r o th e r a c c id e n ts
w ith o u t severe fro n ta l fo rce s, the
e m e rg e n cy te n s io n in g re tra c to rs
w ill n o t be a ctiva te d . The d riv e r and
passengers w ill then be p ro te cte d
by th e fastened seat belts and in e r­
tia reel in th e usual m anner.
Notes:
Rear seat passengers sh o u ld always
w e a r seat b e lts - fo r th e ir ow n p ro ­
te c tio n and to avoid e n d a n g e rin g
th e d riv e r and fro n t passenger w ith
th e ir u n re s tric te d fo rw a rd m ove­
m ent.
No seat b e lt can be used fo r m ore
th a n one person. C h ild re n u n d e r
th e age o f six o r u n d e r th e w e ig h t of
23 kg/50 lb s h o u ld be seated in the
b a ck seat w ith an app ro ve d re­
s tra in t system p ro p e rly secured.
C h ild re s tra in t system s re c o m ­
m ended by us can be fastened
to th e e x is tin g seat belts. Any au­
