5.3 Safety Requirements Before and During Use
WARNING: Before starting the treatment,
always make sure to have a stock of material
(handpiece, inserts, wrenches) to use in the
event of failures or drawbacks.
WARNING: Exclusively use original
MECTRON inserts, accessories and spare
parts.
WARNING: Use of non-original inserts
MECTRON : this implies a permanent
damage to the thread of the handpiece and
compromise the correct operation with the
risk of causing harm to the patient.
CAUTION: Contraindications -
Ultrasonic Scaler. Do not perform treatments
on metal or ceramic prosthetics. Ultrasonic
vibrations could lead to decementation of the
dentures.
WARNING: Contraindications. Do
not use MICROPIEZO on patients with
Pacemakers or other implantable electronic
devices. This requirement is applicable also
for the Operator.
WARNING: Do not perform scaling
treatments without irrigation to avoid an
overheating of the insert that can cause
damage to the tooth.
The treatments provided without irrigation
can be exclusively those performed with "Dry
Work” inserts, without passage of water.
CAUTION: In the treatments that require
irrigation use only inserts with passage of
liquids.
WARNING: Treatments that require
irrigation. Always check the operation of the
irrigation before and during use. Make sure
that the liquid exits from the insert. Do not
use the appliance if the irrigation does not
work or if the pump is faulty.
WARNING: Checking the condition of
the device before treatment. Always check
that there is no water under the appliance.
Before every treatment always check the
perfect operation of the appliance and
efficiency of the accessories. If operation
anomalies are observed do not carry out the
treatment. If the faults concern the appliance,
contact an Authorised MECTRON Service
Centre.
WARNING: Do not use the device in case
of breaks or cracks on the casing.
WARNING: Infection control. First use:
All parts and reusable accessories (new or
returning from an Authorised MECTRON
Service Centre) are delivered in non-sterile
conditions and must be treated before each
use, following the instructions in Chapter 8
on page 35 .
Subsequent uses: After each treatment,
clean and sterilise all parts and reusable
accessories according to the instructions in
Chapter 8 on page 35 .
WARNING: Infection control. Do not
leave liquids in the tank for long periods of
time. The tank must be filled after having
cleaned and sterilised all parts, and before a
treatment. If the tank has been filled without
having used the device, it must be emptied
at the end of the day, and all parts and
accessories must be cleaned and sterilised.
WARNING: To ensure that the handpiece
cools down activate it always with irrigation
circuit installed and properly filled. To fill
the irrigation circuit always use the FLUSH
function.
CAUTION: For correct use of the
appliance, the pedal must be pressed and
the appliance started with the insert not in
contact with the part to be treated, so that
the electronic circuit is able to recognise
the best point of resonance of the insert
without interference, thus allowing optimum
performance.
