8.5.1.2 Scaler Handpiece
Completely immerse the scaler
handpiece, nose cone, and light pipe in
the enzymatic solution. Leave to soak for
10 minutes at 22 °C ±2 °C;

Gently brush the entire surface of the
scaler handpiece, nose cone, and light
pipe for at least 20 seconds using a brush
with soft nylon bristles, paying particular
attention to the following areas:
• thread of the scaler handpiece;
• titanium shaft;

• external and internal parts of nose
cone;
• external and internal parts of light
pipe.
