MICROPIEZO
5.2.5.1
Connection to a Wi-Fi Network
3 https://mectron.it/en/
The
WiFi
button flashes only if the device’s Wi-
Fi interface is active and when searching for
a valid connection with the Mectron server.
Once a connection has been established with
the server, the
WiFi
button will stay lit (not
flashing).
NOTE:
During normal operation, the Wi-Fi
button turns off when the pedal is pressed. If
the Wi-Fi button was lit, it will light up again
when the pedal is released.
If the button is pressed, the connection will be
deactivated; to reactivate it, press the button
again.
For details regarding the connection
procedure, download the MECTRON APP from
the
3
or from the relative
App Stores for your device, and follow the
instructions directly on the mobile device.
5.2.5.2
Wi-Fi Network Requirements
Check that the Wi-Fi network used to
configure MICROPIEZO satisfies the following
requirements:
1. WPA2 safety protocol enabled - for
network protection;
2. DHCP enabled - for automatic
assignment of a local network address;
3.
If there is a firewall, check that it
allows outbound connections from the
configured local network.
If requirements 2 and 3 are not satisfied, the
IoT functions may be inhibited due to a lack of
communication with the Mectron server.
If the Wi-Fi network used does not satisfy
safety requirement 1, the data sent to the
Mectron server may be read or altered.
NOTE:
Use of unsuitably protected and
unsecure networks may expose the data
sent to the Mectron server to unauthorised
access or attacks which may compromise its
integrity or authenticity.
Mectron reminds you that the transmitted data
does not contain personal information about
the user, but rather only data concerning use
of the device and diagnostic information.
NOTE:
Failure of the IoT technology does not
affect the intended functionality of the device
in any way whatsoever. The main functions
of the device described in this manual do not
depend on IoT technology.
5.2.5.3
Communication Diagram
communication diagram for the management
of IoT technology.
The MECTRON APP on the user’s mobile
device will communicate directly with the
MICROPIEZO device only during the first
device registration procedure, that is, when
the MICROPIEZO device is first connected to
the local Wi-Fi network.
During this procedure, the user will send their
authentication credentials for the local Wi-Fi
network to the MICROPIEZO device via the
MECTRON APP. Without this information,
the MICROPIEZO device will not be able
to connect to the local Wi-Fi network and
support the IoT technology.
Subsequently, the MICROPIEZO device will
communicate only with the Mectron Server
via the HTTPS protocol.
The data generated by the MICROPIEZO
device (see
) will
therefore be sent to the Mectron Server with a
secure protocol.
The MICROPIEZO device will receive
notifications from the Server strictly
concerning the availability of software updates
