8.2.2.
Software Updating via ISDN
To update the MERK II software via ISDN you must set up an ISDN connection to the
MERK II server. If there is a new software version for the device that is calling, the
updating routine will start when you press the key and the update file will be transmitted to
your device.
To update the software via ISDN, proceed as follows:
(a) Via the front panel:
•
Select the
MISC
option in the Start mask (see
Figure 4
) and press
.
•
Select
SYSTEM UPDATE
and press
.

Enter the ISDN phone number of the MERK II server (in Germany: 0811/ 5516-61).
•
Select
START UPDATE
and press
.
The update routine now runs automatically.
(b) Via the remote control software:
•
Select
EXPERT
UPDATE CENTAURI VIA ISDN
. A dialog window opens.
•
Select the desired software version if necessary. “Newer” means that it should be up-
dated with a newer software version than is present in the MERK II. It is of course also
possible to downgrade.
•
Enter the ISDN phone number of the MERK II server.
•
Then click on “OK”.
The update routine now runs automatically.
