SpMet AND SpCO MEASUREMENTS DURING PATIENT MOTION
The Rad-87 displays measurements of SpCO and SpMet during patient motion.
However, because of the changes in the physiological parameters such as blood volume,
arterial-venous coupling, etc. that occur during patient motion, the accuracy of such
measurements may not be reliable during excessive motion. When the Rad-87 does
not have confidence in the value of a parameter due to poor signal quality caused by
excessive motion or other signal interference, the measurement for the parameter will
alternate with "---".
FASTSAT
FastSat enables rapid tracking of arterial oxygen saturation changes. Arterial oxygen satura-
tion data is averaged using pulse oximeter averaging algorithms to smooth the trend. When
the Rad-87 is set to FastSat “On”, the averaging algorithm evaluates all the saturation values
providing an averaged saturation value that is a better representation of the patient’s current
oxygenation status. With FastSat, the averaging time is dependent on the input signal.
