very hot and may break the engine.
·Tighten the spark plug with hand firstly, then with
wrench. Spark plug shouldn’t too tighten to break the
screw on the cylinder. When take off the spark plug,
be careful to make sure there is nothing falls in to the
engine.
6.
Examination and adjustment of the valve clearance
When the valve clearance is wide, there will be noise. While,
if the valve clearance is too narrow or there is even no
clearance, it will interfere the shut-down of the valve,
causing burning of the valve or decreasing of power. So,
please check the valve periodically.
The examination and adjustment of valve clearance should
be carried out when the engine is cold, and the means of
examining as follow:
Dismount the central hole cover (hole of observation for
ignition) on the left side cover of the engine.
Dismount the two valve covers on the cylinder head.
Insert the “T” wrench into the central hole on the crankcase
cover, and fix on the nut of fly wheel. Rotate the fly wheel
clockwise until the mark of “T” is aligned with the upper
mark on the top of the crankcase cover. Wave the rocker arm
slightly, if the rocker arm is loose (having clearance), it
indicates that the spark plug is at TDC of compression
stroke, and the valve can be adjusted; If the rocker arm is
tight, it indicates that the spark plug is at BDC of output
stroke. Thus, rotate the “T” wrench for 360 degree
clockwise to make the mark aligned with, and then adjust
the valve. Insert the feeler between the valve adjusting
screw and valve end to check the valve clearance.
The standard valve clearance: intake valve: 0.15
±

exhaust valve : 0.15

If adjustment is needed, please loosen the valve clamping
screw, adjust the adjusting screw until slight resistance can
be felt when the feeler is inserted.
When adjustment is finished, tighten the “clamping screw”
to avoid loosing. Check the valve again.
Then, install the valve cover and the two hole covers on the
crankcase cover.

Adjustment of the clutch

The adjustment of the clutch should be carried out
after stopping the engine.
The free travel of the clutch lever is 10-20mm. If
adjustment is needed, please loosen the clamping nut
on the clutch lever and adjust the clutch lever,
reaching a regulated free travel.
For large scale adjustment, please adjust the clutch
adjusting stud bolt on the right cover of the engine.

Start the engine after the adjustment to confirm
whether or not the clutch works well. If the clutch
appears to skid or difficult to shift gears, please
readjust again.
Adjustment of the operation system of clutch:
In order to ensure proper use of the clutch, user should
make sure the clutch is in mesh under a normal condition
while adjusting and semi-on-off is prohibited. Or the
clutch is easy to skid and the friction plates would be
burnt, causing the whole engine fails to work.
