Tap ‘Base ID’ and choose ‘Auto’ to automatically jump between base stations with the same
frequency, or choose an ID of a specific base station to lock on to it. Please note, if you use
the ‘Auto’ option, you might experience corrections from two bases, which is not optimal.
Ntrip
Makin is able to use corrections from several Ntrip providers. Depending on the installed GNSS receiver the
information must be entered by the Makin supporter or installer, either in the Makin application GNSS
menu, or in the GNSS receivers interface. Common for all of them, is that Makin needs some Ntrip server
details to be able to connect to the server and receive useful corrections. These details will be delivered
from the selected NNtrip provider when subscribing an account.
To connect to the Ntrip network and receive corrections, the following details must be entered
● Ntrip server:
The web address where the server can be accessed.
● Ntrip port:
This is usually a 4-digit number from where Makin must receive the corrections.
● Ntrip user:
Every Ntrip account on the server has a unique username that Makin needs to log in to
the server.
● Ntrip password:
Every Ntrip account on the server has a unique password that Makin needs to log
in to the server.
● Ntrip mountpoint:
This mount point defines which corrections, and from which GNSS satellites
Makin can calculate an accurate position.
Heading method
Makin has the ability to change the heading method to suit the needs of the user. The heading method
defines how the background map and references are rotated on the tablet.
Centerline:
If the centerline heading method is chosen, the map and references will by default be rotated so the project
centerline is pointing up/down on the screen
North:
If the north heading method is chosen, the map and references will by default be rotated so north is
pointing upwards on the screen.
Trace:
When trace heading is selected, the map and references will dynamically rotate so upwards on the screen
will be in the direction of travel. Trace heading angle is calculated between previous positions and current
position. When the direction of travel is changed, the map and references on the screen will automatically
rotate to the new direction of travel.
