Checking and Adding Conditioner Roll Timing Gearbox Oil
WARNING
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the key
from the ignition before leaving the operator
’
s seat for any reason.
IMPORTANT:
Check the gearbox oil level when the oil is warm. If the oil is cold, idle the machine for approximately 10 minutes prior to
checking.
1.
Lower the rotary disc header to the ground and adjust the header angle (tilt) so that the cutterbar is level (parallel)
with the ground.
2.
Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.

On the right side of the header, engage lift release latch (A)
and pull handle (B) to open outboard driveshield (C).

Lift at handle (D) and open inboard driveshield (E).

Clean around oil level sight glass (A) and breather (B) on the
inboard side of the gearbox.
6.
Ensure that the lubricant is level with the top of the sight
glass. If necessary, add lubricant through breather (B). Refer
to
8.8 Recommended Lubricants, page 79
for a list of
recommended fluids, lubricants, and capacity.
