BEFORE FIRST-TIME USE (15.4)
In case the truck is delivered with the tiller disassembled, due to transport necessity, it must be attached and the command
lever adjusted according to the following instructions before using the truck.
Tiller installation (fig. C):
• Connect the tiller (1) to the pump unit (5) using the pin (2) and the plug (3) supplied in the packing. Make sure that
when positioning the driving bar on the pump, the end of the chain (4) is passed through the appropriate hole in the pin
(9)
• Turn the tiller (1) slightly and pull out the lock pin (10) of the tiller spring
• Connect the end of the chain (4) to the descent pedal (6) turning it to allow hooking and making sure that the head of
the end enters completely into the special seat of the descent pedal (6), as shown in the figure.
WARNING: Do not remove locking pin (10) before assembling the tiller (1).
Adjustment of the command lever (fig. C):
• Put the command lever in position 2 – Lifting – and bring the forks to the maximum height using the tiller, as illustrated
in paragraph CONTROLS
• Put the command lever in position 1 – Transport
• Verify that the tiller (1) is in vertical position
• Untighten the locknut (7) and slowly turn the adjustment screw clockwise (8) until the forks begin to descend
• As the forks start to descend, turn the screw (8) anti-clockwise for one and a half turn; eventually, tighten the locknut (7)
• Verify that with the command lever in position 1 – Transport – neither movement, lifting nor lowering, of the forks
occurs at any position of the tiller
• Verify that with the command lever in position 3 – Lowering – the lowering of the forks occurs at any position of the
tiller
WARNING: do not use the truck before all the operations and verifications described above are accomplished.
INSPECTIONS BEFORE EVERY USE
Before every use of the truck, verify that it is in a safe condition for starting the operations, in particular:
