Chapter 11: Memory and Option Cards
Removing
Memory Options
Before removing a memory option, follow the steps under
“Accessing the Printer System Board” on page 201.
Warning!
Printer memory
option and flash memory option
cards are easily damaged by
static electricity. Touch some-
thing metal before you touch an
option card.
To remove a printer memory option or a flash memory
option card:

Locate the option card that you want to remove.

Push the latches at each end of the memory con-
nector away from the option card.

Pull the option card straight out of the memory
connector.

Place the option card in its original packaging.
If you did not save the packaging, wrap the option
card in paper and store it in a box.

Follow the steps under “Installing Memory
Options” on page 207 if you need to install a new
printer memory option or flash memory option
card. Otherwise, go to step 6.
