This section provides instructions on how to replace a memory module. Your computer can support
a maximum of four memory modules.
To replace a memory module:
1. Open the computer cover. See “Opening the computer cover” on page 107.
2. Pivot the drive bay assembly upward to gain access to the system board. See “Accessing the system
board components and drives” on page 108.
3. Locate the memory slots. See “Locating parts on the system board” on page 110.
4. Remove the memory module being replaced by opening the retaining clips as shown.

5. Position the replacement memory module over the memory slot. Make sure the notch

on the memory
module aligns correctly with the slot key

on the system board. Push the memory module straight
down into the slot until the retaining clips close.
