41 Wiring
41.1 RS-485 Communication Wiring
The LNL-3300-M5 communicates to the LNL-1340-M2K using 2-wire RS-485 on downstream
communication port 1. This communication port also appears on TB7 of the LNL-1340-M2K. An additional
31 downstream I/O devices can be supported on this communication port. If the LNL-3300-M5 is mounted
on the LNL-1340-M2K, TB2 of the LNL-3300-M5 is the 2-wire RS-485 downstream communication port 2
that can communicate to an additional 32 downstream I/O devices.
41.2 Reader Wiring
Each of the four (4) reader ports on the LNL-1340-M2K Reader Interface Module supports F/2F and
supervised F/2F type readers.
F/2F and supervised F/2F readers require a shielded 4-conductor cable. For more information, refer to
Specifications on page 154.
