3 Getting started
3.1 - SWITCHING ON AND OFF
1. Check the correct connection of the supply voltage and alarm cable, of the sensor
extension cable and Optional devices.
2. Switch on the equipment by pressing the
On/Off
key.
If the On/Off Switching Method Preference (code 64) has been programmed in
Automatic, the equipment automatically switches on by powering it.

Important:
to turn on the equipment automatically at a specific time, use the Self-
Switching On Function (see chapter 4.13.13).

3. The [
WELCOME
] message appears on the display or the message set in the
Welcome Message Preference (code 60). If the equipment is protected by a
password, the flashing [
PSW
] message will appear. Enter the password to use the
equipment with all of its functions. If you do not know the password, press the
OK
key to use the equipment with certain limits (see chapter 4.13.10).
4. The equipment enters the Recipe Programming Activity.

Important:
if the Activity at Switching On Preference (code 63) is set to Manual,
the equipment will enter the Manual Weighing Activity. To select the Recipe
Programming Activity, press the
Prog./Start
key for 2 seconds.

5. If necessary, carry out the No-Load Tare Function (see chapter 4.1).
6. To switch off, press the
On/Off
key. The [
GOOD BYE
] message will appear on the
display.

to switch off the equipment at a specific time, use the Self-Switching Off
(see chapter 4.13.14).

Important:
if the Sleep Preference is selected (code 75), after a set period of time
of inactivity, the equipment will turn off automatically.

if during operation, the flashing

], appear on the display, see Appendix A - Error
Codes. To clarify the type of error, after the Code, an error explanation will appear
on the display. To interrupt the message, press the
OK
key for 2 seconds while the
message is shown on the display.

Important:
if during the Recipe Execution Activity the equipment switches off
accidentally due to a voltage drop, the next time the equipment is turned on the
[
PW. FAIL
] message will appear for 3 seconds on the display to indicate that the
equipment was automatically switched on after a voltage drop; after those 3 seconds
the equipment will automatically return to the point it was in when the power
interruption occurred. If the Power Output Preference (code 52) is set to Extractor,
press the
OK
key to eliminate the error message [
TOLER.
] from the display.
