Camshaft Side Clearance
1. Set a dial indicator (lever type) and put a screwdriver instead
through the injection pump mount opening to see if there is a
clearance on the right and left of the camshaft.
2. If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit, adjust the
clearance with shims.

Thickness of adjusting shims: 0.2 mm (0.079 in.)
(4) Oil Pump
Rotor Lobe Clearance
1. Measure the clearance between a high point on the inner rotor
and high point the outer rotor with a thickness gauge.
2. If the clearance exceeds the factory allowable limit, replace
the oil pump rotor assembly.
Clearance between Outer Rotor and Pump Body
1. Measure the clearance between the outer rotor and the pump
body with a thickness gauge.
2. If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit, replace the oil
pump rotor assembly.
