Universal drive shafts
Coupling the universal drive shaft
Clean PTO shafts of tractor and implement.
QS quick-locking mechanism
1. Pull sleeve back until it remains in open position.
2. Push universal drive shaft onto PTO shaft until QS
mechanism engages automatically. The sleeve mst
then rotate freely.
Sliding pin
3. Press sliding pin and at the same time push the
universal drive shaft onto the PTO shaft until the
sliding pin engages.
Pull lock
4. Pull the pull lock and at the same time push the
universal drive shaft onto the PTO shaft until the
lock engages.
QC lock
5. Turn locking ring and at the same time push the
universal drive shaft onto the PTO shaft until the
lock engages automatically.
6. Tighten screw over the clamping wedge (marking).
Always check that the universal drive shaft locking
devices are securely engaged before starting up.
Adjusting the universal drive shaft
Adjust the universal drive shaft to the tractor to obtain
the greatest possible overlap “LS” of the sliding profiles.
Important
Maximum overlap is determined in the tightest possible
cornering position. (Test both right and left.)
1. For length adjustment hold the drive shaft halves
beside each other in the shortest operating position.
2. Shorten inner and outer protective tubes equally.
3. Shorten inner and outer sliding profiles by the same
amount as the protective tube.
4. Smooth cut edges and remove swarf carefully.
Grease sliding profile.
Other alterations to the universal drive shaft and
protection are not permissible.
5. Attach arresting chains in such a way as to provide
sufficient slewing range for the universal drive shaft
in all operating positions.
6. Do not use arresting chains for suspending the
universal drive shaft.
Observe the operating instructions provided by the
universal drive shaft manufacturer.
