Clean the interior of the air cleaner body, cover (3) and evacuator valve (6).
NOTICE
The inner element must not be used again even after
cleaning. When replacing the outer element, replace the
inner element at the same time.

Direct dry compressed air (Max. 0.69 MPa (7 kgf/cm
2
))
from the inside of the outer element along its folds. Then
direct the compressed air from the outside along the folds,
and again from the inside.
6.
Replace any outer element which has been cleaned 6
times or used for 1 year. Replace the inner element at the
same time.
7.
Even if the outer element has not been cleaned 6 times, if
the yellow piston in the dust indicator goes to the 5 kPa
position immediately after cleaning (when the engine is
running at high idling, replace both the inner and the outer
element.

If small holes or thinner parts are found on the element
when it is checked by shining a light through it after clean-
ing, replace the element.
NOTICE
When cleaning the element, do not hit or beat it against
anything.
Do not use an element whose folds, gasket or seal are
damaged.
9.
Before installing the outer element, check that the inner element is fitted securely. If the inner element is not
fitted securely, push it in properly.
CAUTION
When installing the cover (3), check O-ring (7) and replace
it if there are any scratches or damage.
10. Set the cleaned outer element in position, then secure
cover (3) with mounting clips (2).
