A-7.3 Self-start
If there is a requirement for an application program to boot as soon as the computer is switched
on, the instruction string given on the previous page must be entered in a BATCH file under
the name AUTOEXEC.BAT using any text editor and the file must then be copied to the diske
te which contains the User System
UN.COM.
The program then starts up automatically as soon as the system i
booted.

B-1 Fir
t lesson
Treat this Part of the Manual as a kind of „learning game“, which, if you join in, will very
quickly teach you how the KODAK S-RA2500 Editing System works. In this case, „join in“
means reading first and then doing.
Rules of the game
Like all games, this game has rules. Obviously, you cannot play the game without the mini-
mum computer configuration described in Section A-2. Additionally, you must have at least
one KODAK CAROUSEL S-RA2500 type projector together with a suitable connecting cable
(Cat. No. 706 1419). The exercises in Section B-1 only contain instruction sequences which
operate with this minimum configuration. Features such as crossfading, wipe functions, etc.
have been excluded - but this is not a problem because you will be able to try out these instruc-
tions yourself as soon as you have mastered the basic functions of the system.
Your original diskette contains the program mentioned in exercise B-1. Nevertheless, it is in
your own interest to follow our advice and enter the few program instructions in your computer
in accordance with the exercise without taking any short cuts. In this way it will be quicker for
you to learn how the system operates.
B-1.1 Starting is easy
Place the working copy of the Editing System diskette in drive A of your computer after boot-
ing the system with the DOS system diskette. You are now at the so-called „DOS command level“
and the screen displays the prompt „A>“. Start up the Editor by ke
