Intended Use
3.1
Intended Purpose
The medical product marTract® is a retractor system for surgical procedures. The intended use is the
intraoperative spreading of the situs, for an optimal surgical approach. All instruments are reusable after
CSSD-processes.
3.2
Limitations of Use
3.2.1
Contraindications
The Surgical Retractor System marTract® must not be used if MRT (magnetic resonance tomographs) are
used simultaneously (MRT malfunctions). The surgeon generally bears the responsibility of indication.
The universal light-cable with blade holder, tooth system and adapter are suitable for cold-light sources.
These components allow the transportation of light between the cold-light source and endoscopes for
medical application. The universal cold-light cable can be used with cold-light source with halogen reflector
lamps or Xenon light-sources. It is not allowed to use the agglutinated fiber optic with a Xenon light-source.
Furthermore, it is not permitted to clean this type of cold-light cable with thermolabile sterilization
methods.
3.3
Warnings
The system components must be checked for their full functionality before each use, and must be
reprocessed accordingly.
