11. ADDITIONAL INDICATIONS AND INFORMATION REGARDING AHUS IN HYGIENIC
VERSION (MCKH)
AHUs in MCKH hygienic version are constructed based on the MCKT units and allowing for the recommendations in-
cluded in the DIN 1946-4 standard.
Below there are shown differences in structure and technology applied in the MCKS and MCKH AHUs.
11.1 Block illumination
The hygienic AHUs are equipped with LED illumination (12V) in the following blocks: filters (preliminary and fine),
cooler, fan, heat recovery (with cross-flow heat exchanger and medium), separation. In each block with illumination
there is a LED strip installed. A wire runs from the illumination module to the terminal box mounted on the top block
cover. If the system includes two illumination blocks, the wires can run to a joint terminal box. The control system
supplier has to allow for connection of illumination in the control system.

11.2 Inspection eyeholes
Inspection eyeholes (portholes
Ø
200) are located in front covers and panels, in sections equipped with illumination.
They enable, without switching off the AHU, assessing the contamination degree of the interior and its fittings as well
as observation of the work of the AHU individual elements.
11.3
Fan casing
The
„
plug-fan
”
fan casing is of open type and it is easy to clean.
11.4
Filtration materials
1st and 2nd level materials are non-hygroscopic and are provided with certificates required for health service (the fil-
tration class is imposed by a designer).
11.5 Drip trays
Trays in hygienic version units
–
under the humidifier, cooler and drop separator of the cross-flow exchanger
–
are
made of stainless steel.
11.6 Droplet separators
Blades of the exchanger's droplet separators are made of plastic.
11.7 Tray outlets
All
tray outlets
are equipped with plastic drain traps, which are described in section 6.2.6. It is necessary to arrange
appropriate foundation height to enable installation and connection of the drain trap for higher pressures.
11.8 Cable gland
The cable glands are installed at the electrical motors only. The glands for connecting actuators and illumination are
installed on the casing (frame) only in case of supplied and assembled control system. The glands are designed to
ensure appropriate tightness and internal cleanliness class.
11.9 Materials
All the materials used to make the unit and the insert elements are resistant to commonly used disinfecting agents.
