NOTE!
-
To ensure correct operation of functional elements (e.g. tray flow) and the structure tightness, the AHUs
should be located on well-levelled ground.
-
The AHU is fixed to a floor-concreted base frame or leveled screed. It is acceptable to install the AHU without bolt-
ing its framework. Individual sets are equipped with individual frames or foundation corner joints with
∅
14 holes
designed to anchoring or bolting down the foundation.
-
The AHU should be installed and connected to pipes so that an appropriate free space is maintained for
servicing the unit. Standard operation and filter replacement require about 600 mm (unit 1
÷
2), 1000 mm
(unit 3
÷
4); 1200 mm (unit 5
÷
6); 1500 mm (unit 7
÷
11). In case of anticipated removal (replacement) of heat
exchangers and humidifier it is necessary to leave some space of the AHU width + 250 mm.
-
Leading out water from the trays should be designed according to Fig. No 32 and Fig. No 33.
-
The AHU with cooling exchanger and droplet separator located in separate sections, once the sections are
connected, requires installation of a sealing cover
–
channel bar
–
and sealing with silicone according to
Fig. No 49. If the sealing cover is not installed it may lead to local condensate leakage.
6.1.3 Installation and foundation of the MCKS-RX AHU
The roofs MCKS-RX AHU are delivered on site in to sections: internal and external.

Transport and lifting position of internal and external unit
- Locating the AHU on a roof is done using a crane. The AHU sets during transportation (vertical and horizontal)
should be protected against contact with crane's ropes by inserting spreaders to avoid deforming the casing (Fig. No
19).
The installation is to be done on a previously prepared roof base (plinth) with a roof opening (Fig. No 20).
- The internal unit is equipped with screw-type transport mounts, which should be removed once the unit is located on
the roof base. The unit is secured on the plinth thanks to its own weight (Fig. No 21).
- Between the internal unit's flange and the roof plinth as well as between the external and internal units' flanges a sil-
icon sealing has to be applied.
The roof base should be well leveled.
- The next step is setting the external unit, aligning the flange pins and holes and then tightening up the nuts.
Power and control leads are fed through a cable bushing in the roof.
The roof base should be done as a concrete underlayment or sheet-steel construction, taking into account strength
parameters adapted to the AHU weight specified in the AHU selection sheet.
