The Keithley Instruments Model 3706-190 backplane connector board is an accessory that can be
used to make connections to the calibrator. Additional boards, such as a 4-wire short or the discrete
resistors, would also be convenient to eliminate rewiring for different setups used in verification.

Refer to the manufacturer's specifications to calculate the uncertainty, which will vary for each test
point.
Verification limits
The verification limits stated in this section have been calculated using only the Series 3700A one-
year accuracy specifications. They do not include test equipment uncertainty. If a particular
measurement falls outside the allowable range, recalculate new limits based on both the Series
3700A specifications and corresponding test equipment specifications.
Example reading limit calculation
Assume you are testing the 10 VDC range using a 10 V input value. Using the Series 3700A one-year
accuracy specification for 10 VDC of ± (14 ppm of r 1.2 ppm of range), the calculated limits
are:
Reading limits = 10 V ± [(10 V × 14 ppm) + (10 V × 1.2 ppm)]
Reading limits = 10 V ± (0.00014 + 0.000012) V
Reading limits = 10 V ± 0.000152 V
Reading limits = 9.999848 V to 10.000152 V
