Based on the three pieces of information already ob-
tained the suitable HDC unit can be determined by
now. All in all the number of the simultaneously used
extraction points, the maximum required delivery rate
per extraction point as well as the desired pressure
range is indicative of the the selection of the HDC
unit.
The adjustment of the system pressure takes place
by the selection of the suitable nozzles at the extrac-
tion points and the setting of the overflow valve.
Max. water temperature (°C)
There is the opportunity to choose between a 60°C
and a 85°C version of the inlet temperature. If the
customer chooses the hot water version (HDC-H), a
prepressure pump is installed ahead of the high-pres-
sure supply unit in the factory. Its purpose is to dis-
solve the air bubbles (cavitation) generated when
heated above 60°C in order to prevent damage to the
high-pressure pumps.
Max. water hardness (°dH)
In case of a water hardness exceeding 15°dH with
cold water appliances and 7°dH with warm water ap-
pliances we recommend to perform a liquid softening.
You can choose between to different versions:
In the pipe system
Here, the liquid softener is permanently and direct-
ly fed into the pipe system of the fresh water sup-
ply This has the advantage that by means of a
water meter a previously determined amount of
liquid softener is added to the fresh water supply
(even before the storage tank).
In the storage tank
Here, the liquid softener is also permanently add-
ed into the storage tank. However, in the event
that water is transported back into the storage tank
via the overflow valve with this method, it is inevi-
table that the fed back water is mixed with liquid
softener again! If this happens several times in a
row, overdosing of the liquid softener occurs and
the pump can get damaged.
Note
Impurities will lead to increased wear and tear or for-
mation of deposits in the appliance.
Only use fresh water of the following quality as a
high-pressure medium:
Table 1
Note
If the system is intended for special applications such
as the food industry, stainless steel must be selected
for both the frame and the casing.
The standard appliances HDC are designed for a
voltage supply EU1 with the following values:
Voltage: 400 V
Number of live wires: 3
Frequency: 50Hz
Further voltage variants are examined with regard to
their technical feasibility as special projects by the
PCE department upon request.
Danger
Risk of electric shock!
It is mandatory that the HD Unit can be separately
disconnected from the mains during maintenance
work.
The disconnection from the mains can be enabled by
the following measures:
Via a suitable plug.
Via a switch, in case that the HD unit is to be con-
nected directly.
